Footie is back on the Box ....

..... technically yes, as the Olympics kicks off (pardon the pun) with the women's football today.  It is just a few week away for the actual football season starts (silent punch in the air - peace on a Saturday afternoon  again...lol) and the pre-season friendlies have already started .  So to help celebrate the start of the Olympics I have made this football card.

The image is from Lili of the Valley coloured with my paints.  Diecut trophy is from Sizzix and Card Candi  is from stash.  The patterned paper is from scrap drawer.  Tools used are Nesties and embossing folders.  The challenges covered are:-

Sun? ... Where are you?

Good morning from a very wet and damp Wee County.  Weird thing is this climate change, as it is hard to believe that the southern parts of the country are having a heatwave and drought while us, just up the road are still living in our wellies and macs ....lol...  I think it is safe to keep the BBQ in the shed for yet another year  - yay!, I hear you all say, no food poisoning!... hehe.

The thistle stamp is one a bought from a craft fair years ago so I'm afraid I don't know the maker.  Tartan papers from stash as is sentiment, ribbon and card candys.  Tools used were my Snowflake embossing folder and square nestibilities.  The challenges covered are:-

Music makes the world go round........

Hello, hello, hello, peeps and a happy weekend to you all.  Should really put a health warning on this sight saying *stay away* as I am still choked with this horrid cold., now I can't hear right and my taste buds are all to pot...lol.  However, to cheer myself up I have booked our summer holiday to Corfu for May - yay!!  - Sunshine here I come!!!.

This is the first time I have tried making one of these fancy type of cards an it was surprising quite easy to do.  The music background was done by using my PB stamp.  The musical round toppers are from Kanban and I cut out black and gold mirror circles using my Nesties and matt & layered them together to look like a record and stuck the drums topper onto it.  Musical notes are Sizzixlits diecuts.  Sentiment is prinrted off computer.  The challenges covered are:-

Chilly Tuesday

Good morning to you all and I hope you are all keeping warm this chilly morning (-14 here).  Well, not at work again due to the condition of the roads.  They are shocking, my poor Barry was one of the many hundreds of travellers caught-up in the massive gridlock on the Central Scotland roads.  He was struck from 11am in the morning and never moved for over 8 hours, eventually the queue moved enough for him to take a slip road off the motorway and by luck he knew the back roads and made a very slow and slippery journey and got home the back of midnight very tired and hungry!!!.  There was alot of people, elderly and families had to spend the night in their vehicles in that cold weather - it must have been horrific!!!

So it is another day in the house with the heating on full blast to keep the chill away.  There is nothing else for it but to have a wee play at the table.  The image is Miss Anya from The Greeting Farm.  The design paper is from DCVW.  Diecut snowflakes from Sizzix and sentiment printed off computer.  The challenges I have covered are:-

Stuck at home ....

Yes, the weather has beaten me this morning.  I managed about 5 miles up the road but had to turn back, the roads were really, really bad, even the 4 wheel drive jeeps in front of me were slip-sliding over the place.  So I have made a hard decision to play at my table today...lol.

This fabulous Charlie image is from Whiff of Joy.  The snowflakes are a mixture of diecuts, punches and brads.  The DP is from stash, sentiment printed off computer and also used my MS edge punch and snowflake cuttlebug folder.  The challenges covered are:-

I am heading back to my table again as it is a fun-filled afternoon of crafting, footie and Formula One!

It's the Weekend.........craft time!!!

It seems that it is the only time I get to play these days.  There does not seem enough hours in the day and now that the nights are drawing in it feels less and less.  With limited time, I try and support as many of the challenge blogs as possible. All the Design Teams put so much time and effort in their work - your work are fully appreciated and gives me so much inspiration you don't realise - you are all fantastic and give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back.

I have managed to make one card so far today for a friend whose birthday is next week but she is actually celebrating it tonight (her and her youngest son share the same day) so I think a few glasses of wine will be flowing... lol.  The gorgeous image is from Sugar Nellie coloured with my bargain pencils (from Tesco's), the design paper is from Laura Ashley, diecut buttons are from stash, as is the brads & spacers.  The challenges covered today are:-
Finger-crossed I shall be back on before I head out tonight.  I have a feeling it could be messy this evening.  Lesley (aka Pinkles Dreams) has bought Cola Cube Shots for us all - they are tasty but lethal.... lol.

Anniversary Card

A sunny morning to you all, and I hope you are all having a fabby weekend.  I have not had chance to play until today, as I was out in Friday, first to watch the Football (Scotland) and then to see Barry's nephew play in his band in a local hotel.  Then yesterday we where out for lunch and then ...........shopping.. Arhhh!! worst nightmare but I managed without a petted lips or tantrum in sight (this is me!!!) lol.  So Sunday already, where does the weekend go. This is a card I had been asked to do by a work colleague to gave to her son and DIL so I hope they like it.

The sentiment it a sticker from DCVW.  Cuttlebug folders Swirls & Swiss Dots.  Gold peel offs.  Flowers, pearl stands, buckle and ribbon are from stash.  The challenges covered on this are:-

Summer??? - Where's the Sun Gone!

Well, if this is July, I can't wait for August!!! It might bring some sunshine........ lol.  It has been a windy, rainy month so far.  So today seeing all these challenges with summer in mind cheered me up a bit from out of the doldrums.  I have lost my mojo over the last wee while so I am hoping it is returning.  Funny how it comes and goes - do you think it has something to do with the moon? ......lol

I do so love these new characters from Lili of the Valley.  Quite a few of these stamps over the last few months have ended up in my virtual shopping basket - and making it all the way through check-out.  I am prone to do shop "window shopping" online and then log out before I actually reach checkout, it feels like retail therapy, without costing anything!  As I mentioned earlier, there are quite a few challenge blogs with similar themes so I have covered a few, they are:-
I am off to a BBQ a little later - weather is not promising at all - so I shall pop my pac-a-mac in my bag just in case.

Secret Crafter - Wedding/Anniversary

Morning peeps, didn't get as much crafting as I had planned yesterday so hopefully might get some done today, but I am not holding my breath as it is Sunny!!!!! Woo-hoo.

Anyway, what I did do, is made a few Anniversary cards with the same stamp.  Handy, as this weeks challenge across at Secret Crafter is "Wedding/Anniversary".  The stamp is one, I think,  from Anita's, and I popped some 3D gloss on them (though you can't see it in the photos).  Used Cuttlebug 'Swirls' embossing folder on two of the cards.

I tried to used different embellishments on them, just what was in stash pile.  I am trying to build up a wide choice of cards as the girls from work have asked me to bring in some and I hardly have any spare laying around so that is why I am doing some same but different (if that makes any sense!?#!) ones.

Anniversary Card & a few holiday pics

Afternoon peeps, I am so glad to be back amongst my Blogland buddies.  Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.  I have quite a few cards to make this weekend and I am having an inspiration block!  Have managed to make one card so far.  This is for my boss at work, Kirsty, who will be celebrating her 1st wedding anniversary next week, her & her husband are such a lovely couple together.

I have used the sketch from Card Patterns, and used the themes from Secret Crafter - "Quotes" and also Spoon Full of Sugar - "Floral Delights".  Mainly used white card.  Quote is from DCVW.  Distressed all edges with a red chalk ink.  Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Peel offs from stash (still no printer for P.C.)

I threatened you all earlier in  a previous post that I would show you are couple of photos of my holidays, I will show a few in each posts so I do not to bore you all - plus you can only cope with seeing my ugly mug in small doses....lol.  These first couple are us joining the cruise ship, Ventura, in Southampton,  the weather was glorious and how better to celebrate the start of a holiday - with a pint of lager!!!

And it is a picture of the ship, she was beautiful and I kept getting lost every time I used the lifts...lol. As you can see she is huge - too big for the camera.

Heading back to my table to try and make another with a "Pimms Misty" cocktail! (Pimms, ginger beer & pineapple juice)
