Take it easy....

Evening my lovelies....  Hope everyone is safe and well.  Had to double check my feet this morning  to see if they were now webbed due to all this rain we are having...lol...  I nearly do have as I am sitting blogging with my froggy onesie on ..lol..

I have been playing with some free papers and elements I received with a Crafters companion magazine I got before Christmas and have made this birthday card.  The border punch is a Martha Stewart one.  The ribbon is recycled from a jumper or top, thanks to my work colleagues for donating and the sentiment and charm are from stash.  The challenges covered are:-

Santa Claus is coming....

Good afternoon all, no, I have not fallen off the face of the earth, or been abducted by aliens...lol... Just been a wee bit busy with other things.  I am off on holiday from work this week so I shall have time for a little play in between jobs that need doing.

For this card I have used my favourite Santa stamp.  Backing papers are a mixture of foiled vellum, material and sequin waste all out of stash.  The holly leaves and berries are from Wild Orchid crafts.  The challenges covered are:-

Happy PJ Day!!!

Good morning, or is it afternoon - I have had a long lie as I was up late with friends and when I came home I watching the Olympic Opening Ceremony which I had recorded so is was the back of 4 when I drifted off to sleep.  I thought it was quite good personally and I loved the humour it incorporated, Mr Bean cracks me up all the time ...lol...

So since I am still in my pj's I am going to officially make today  National PJ Day!!  So folks you can take it nice and easy today and craft away at your hearts content and you don't have to feel guilty about leaving that washing, ironing, etc... to another day...hehehe ... (well that's my excuse for body-swerving the housework ..lol...)

I really quite like this CAS card, It has been a while since I have played with some of my Sizzix dies so I had to scrape the dust and stoor off them.  I gave the little house some texture my running it through an embossing folder.  I just used up some paper scraps and again used a different embossing folder for the background giving it a good rub with sandpaper to show off the brick effect. Peel offs, brads and hinge are from stash.  The challenges covered are:-

Fab 'n' Funky Challenge  -  No Stamped Image
Daring Cardmakers  -  House that Jack Built
Papertake Weekly  -  Make Your Own  (embellishment from a die)

Brrrrr.... its a cold one

Afternoon peeps from a very snowy and cold part of Scotland.  I was lucky in the sense that I was on holiday from work today (or unlucky as I wouldn't have managed there anyway 'coz of the weather!).  Barry tried to get to his work but got turned back just a short way from the house.  He kept himself busy by trying to clear away the snow off the path, but it covered over again so he gave up!!! ...lol.

I was planning to play all day, but it is one of those days where the mojo disappeared and I had no "oomph" so I have only managed one card! I am so disappointed, with so many fantastic creations in my head but the body not wanting to co-operate!!.. lol.  The image is from Lili of the Valley, glittered with Stickles.   DP are from Papermania.  Snowflake diecuts and brads are from stash as is the diecut silver heart.  The challenges covered are:-

Crimbo Card

A very good morning to you all.  Up bright and early as we having a charity stall today in Falkirk - fingers crossed for the weather as it is outside.  So there is no crafting for me today - instead I am posting one I made last night.

This is a Penny Black image off one of the sets of clear stamps I have which I have hunted back out for the Chrimbo card making season.  The backing paper is one of a few laying around waiting patiently to be used.  The Snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder is back and also making a reappearance is the snowflake brads, diecuts and confetti!!!!  Be warned they will be making alot of appearances!!! lol.  The challenges I have covered are:-
Take care and hope everyone has a lovely weekend!!!  Happy crafting!

Summer??? - Where's the Sun Gone!

Well, if this is July, I can't wait for August!!! It might bring some sunshine........ lol.  It has been a windy, rainy month so far.  So today seeing all these challenges with summer in mind cheered me up a bit from out of the doldrums.  I have lost my mojo over the last wee while so I am hoping it is returning.  Funny how it comes and goes - do you think it has something to do with the moon? ......lol

I do so love these new characters from Lili of the Valley.  Quite a few of these stamps over the last few months have ended up in my virtual shopping basket - and making it all the way through check-out.  I am prone to do shop "window shopping" online and then log out before I actually reach checkout, it feels like retail therapy, without costing anything!  As I mentioned earlier, there are quite a few challenge blogs with similar themes so I have covered a few, they are:-
I am off to a BBQ a little later - weather is not promising at all - so I shall pop my pac-a-mac in my bag just in case.

Home Alone Sunday

Afternoon peeps, hope you are enjoying your May Weekend.  I am working tomorrow but I did have a really good day meeting up with some girly friends for lunch and a few glasses of wine and a chat - a few more drinks later and a visit to the local nightclub I toddled in at 2am this morning!!!!! Haven't done that for years - and must say, I still got those moves for the dance floor!!!!  lol

Barry has headed out up to Dundee, for the football end of year dinner and is staying over so I am home alone - Yippee!!!!!!!  - more dancing around the room!!! - lol.  Peace and quiet to play, play, play.

This Penny Black image is just purr-fect for a guy's card.  The DP is from a paperpack I picked up in Stampaholics, Perth (which is a great Aladdin's cave) and used my oval Nestibilities and peel-offs (yes, printer still broke)

The challenges I have combined together in this card are:-
  • Penny Black Saturday Challenge - "Punch it" (used my Nesties)
  • Daring Cardmakers - Easel Card
  • Allsorts Challenge  -  "Animals"
Hopefully will see you all later with a few more creations...lol

Ruby Anniversary

Morning peeps, hope you are all having a fine weekend.  Up early this morning and already done most of my jobs about the house.  Giving the garden a miss at the moment as it is raining!!!  April is definitely living up to it's name - showery!!!.....lol.  Oh well, I might as well have a little play at my table while Barry is on the golf course.  At One Stop Craft Challenge this week the challenge is "Metallic" and Stamp Something is "Charms" so my little spacer and heart charm hopefully covers them.  Daring Cardmakers are asking for "Die cuts" so I hope by using my Oval Nestibilities and leaf punch that these count.

This is the first time I had done a "thinking" challenge for Crafty Cardmakers. Imagine if you were on a Desert Island for at least 6 months, what crafty essentials would you *need* to have with you? What would you never tire of or get bored with if these were the only things you had? You need to make your ENTIRE creation using only the items you have on your island, items you really couldn't do without.  So here is my list of my essential items
  • White Card - can be adapted so many ways
  • Embossing Folders (On the island I could just sit on them as I would not have a machine! lol)
  • Flowers - no particular kind
  • Stamps & Ink Pad - so versatile - ink pad used for distressing edges
  • Peel-offs (no computer/printer on island)
  • Ribbon - so handy
  • Charms - this could be buttons etc... off your clothes .... lol
  • Leaf Punch - one of my newest purchases and I don't know what I did before having it!!!!!
I am hoping to be back on later today depending if Barry makes me go shopping this afternoon - Boo Hiss - worst nightmare.... lol.

Daring Cardmakers & Creative Card Crew

Evening ladies.  I can't believe how dark it is getting now, going to work in the dark, coming home in the dark ......brrrrrrrr ......... I will be hibernating soon.......lol.  This is a wee cheeky card I have done for Daring Card makers "White Christmas", I have cheated a wee bit by popping on a bit of velvet red ribbon (to hide the paper joins...lol) and I have also entered it into Creative Card Crew - "Christmas".

I have still lost my memory card and can't get use to this other camera so I apologise for my photo quality. With that and the new laptop (yes, the old one went to the Curry's Superstore in the sky) I am having a fabby techno time!!! - not

A Few Challenges in 1

Morning peeps, hope you are all well and enjoying your weekends.  Sorry not been on much but hopefully today I can sit and play.  Not planning on leaving the house as it is throwing it down with rain.

I made this card for one of my niece's whos birthday was actually last week (bad auntie I know ......lol....... gonna blame it on the postal strikes!!!!......lol).

The challenges I have covered for this one is:-

The image is a Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellie (I called her Little Miss Attitude) and glammed her up a bit with some Stickles.  The striped papers are from DCVW Spring Stack and used one of my Cuttlebug embossing folders for the spots. Flowers are from stash and I got to use my new Martha Stewart Border Punch I got last week.

A few challenges in 1 - and it's raining again!

Afternoon everyone. Surprise surprise, its raining yet again. Can't believe that this is the "height" of summer - haha - my eye! I know I stay in Bonnie Scotland and should except this weather, but a little peek of the sun would be nice!....lol.......Must be in a moaning mood today. Wait 'til Barry comes in and then he'll get the wrath of my tongue!....lol.......yeah.....and he'll really pay attention.....lol.
Anyway managed to deliver card safe and well, with a wee blether and a coffee to add. Another card posted off and a trip to the supermarket not to mention the usual day off chores around the house......jobs done and now a chance to play!

Using the lovely princess stamp from Whiff of Joy, backing paper from K & Company, Swirls embossing folder from Cuttlebug, pearl & gem brads from stash I have managed to incorporate quite a few challenges in one.
Hoping to do a couple more before tea and then come blog hopping with a glass of wine later.

Daring Cardmakers

Back again and as since we seem to have had our summer already I decided to cheer myself by going the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers - "Sizzling Hot!!!"
I raided by scrap drawer to pick out various shades of yellow, orange and red. The image is from a set of clear set of stamps I picked up somewhere and the sentiment is a rub on.

Holiday Mojo has Arrived - 2 challenges

Good afternoon everyone. Hope everyone is enjoying their Bank Holiday Weekend, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a holiday up here in Scotland, however I am official off on holiday for a week - Yee Ha!!!. Not that I am going anywhere, Barry is working so therefore I am home alone - to Play!!!!. I've told El Baza that I will be really really busy about the house doing springy cleaning things...lol.......might just shove it all in the cupboard instead....
So I have started my Sunday with a couple of challenges to brake me in gently..... Charisma Cardz challenge is "Flowers, Lace & Pearls".

I have used a lovely image by Elizabeth Bell from Sugar Nellie. Flowers & Pearl Brads are from stash and Backing Papers are from Laura Ashley & The English Paper Co. The closest I had to lace is Florist ribbon so I hope that counts...lol.
The my other card I have done is for Daring Cardmakers - "Wet, Wet, Wet" Well, my heart skipped a beat at first when I saw this as I immediately flashed back to my youth and Marti Pellow - Woar!. So during the making of this card I continually sung/hummed to myself "Sweet Little Mystery"...lol.......somehow my version didn't give it justice...lol...especially the 'da da dom' bits where I had forgotten the words...lol

The Maggie image from Sugar Nellie has been wonderfully coloured in by Lesley again with her Pro-markers. Backing papers is from a Forever Friends Decoupage Set. Ribbon and sentiments are from stash.
Back to my table to finish off 2 more cards.

Diggin' the Dancing Queen......

You can dance, you can sin-g, having the time of your life...................Oooooo.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend and watched the Eurovision Song Contest - I missed it! I was out on the tiles for a change, usually I watch the national constitution so I sky+ it instead but fell asleep watching it when I can home in the early hours. Was suffering yesterday with a slight sore head.
One of the girls at work has asked me a do a card for her niece's 18th birthday who loves music so I was over the moon when I saw the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers - "Sound of Music".

Sorry that my photographic skills are hopeless when taking snaps of shiny things!...lol. Used the lovely Miss Anya coloured with my watercolour pencils. Backing paper is from the Daisy & Dandelion Picnic packs papers, and musical notes are cut from a Sizzixlet.

Sorry Folks - It's a long one......

Well I can't believe that's Sunday evening already and my week off is just about finished - Boo Hiss. Feel like I am going back to school - checked that uniform is ready & ironed, shoes polished, bag packed, lunchbox ready, have bath, wash behind ears....etc.... Checked this morning and No - not won lottery, so will have to set alarm clock...lol. I started off my hols with big intentions to do this & that but I got side-tracked along the way ( some stupid, simple but really REALLY addictive computer game that has you saying 'just one more shot'... and no, it wasn't solitaire or freecell but something similar lol).
Anyway, back to crafting, and I did manage a couple more cards to finish the week off so here does:-

I followed the sketch from Truly Scrumptious for this card, I used papers from the Spring stash of DCWV and a lovely little image given to me. Also the challenge was to use some homemade buttons, I kinda cheated on this one by using a couple of diecut buttons & dressing them up with funky thread. ***
The challenge over at Charisma Cardz is to do a 'Pretty Card for Mum', this was handy as a girl at work had asked me to make for her a Mother's Day Card but not to have mother on it.
The label on the card reads Best Wishes (sorry photo not very good) and I used my new nestibilities that I had got on Thursday at the craft fair in Glasgow, boy, good job I had my flexible friend with me..lol...
***
I absolutely loved doing this one for the Daring Cardmakers - 'It's a Patchy One' to be patchwork inspired. My own mother is a quilter so I knew instantly who this was for. When you visit my mother, her sewing machine is always out and bits of material are scattered everywhere. All bedrooms have at least one quilt on the bed, there are wall-hangings and recently mother has moved onto roll-up jewellery cases, make-up bags and the good old quilted coat hangers, just to name a few. It must be a gene in the family as her mother (my gran) knitted and sewed and you were given everything from jumpers to pin cushions, summer dresses to the lady toilet roll hiders.....bless her soul. xxx
You will have to forgive me on the faux stitching, as my hand was in agony doing the paper piercing and a bottle of red wine did not help the hand to eye co-ordination either...lol. The image is from the Sweet Ebony range at Sugar Nellie and I made my jazzy funky buttons again.
***
And finally, I can hear you all scream - YES!, is my last one for this evening. It is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is a recipe, ' 3 Brads, 2 Ribbons & 1 flower'.
The image is PB but I added my different stamped wording. My blue Stickles in my flower smudged a bit & I made it worst by fixing it with my finger...lol.
Now I am going to catch up with what you all lovely peeps have been up to and then early to bed for me. Night night. xxx

I'm Quackin' Up! - 3 Cards Made

Howdy folks! Hope everyone is well. Woke up this morning to the sun splitting the sky. It has been a gorgeous day here, nice & bright and a bit windy (we'll put that down to Lesley (aka Pinkles Dreams) who is still here at my bit - pmsl...). I got some good news yesterday about the leak in the roof, it just needs a small repair in the felt and some tiles relined and that's it done.
We have been having a craftathon but somehow I am losing. lol. I have managed three cards, two of which I have used my Penny Black duck stamps which I have had for ages & ages and been dieing to use.

These 2 little ducks I have entered into Charisma Cardz No.7 Challenge which is hugs 'n' Cuddles, ah bless. The backing papers are from DCVW Spring Stash which I had forgot I had and went foraging in the cupboard for. lol.
I used my other ducky stamp for the Cute Card Thursday challenge which the theme was 'Spring' and the Saturday Penny Black challenge which was 'Get Well Soon'.
I used DCVW backing paper from the Spring Collection and the butterflies are from my stash. While making this card my vocal chords got an airing (much to Lesley's and Barry's annoyance) as 'love is in the air' was replaced by the wording on the card. Woo-oo-oo-oo. lol.
Finally this Mother's day card is entered into the Daring Cardmakers challenge - to have a fish or a frog. Well, since I'm a little frog daft I can't miss this one but looking though all my gear I was surprised to find very little froggies there (note for craft fair next week..froggie purchases...lol).
YES - I do have other backing papers other than DCVW, but, NO, on this occasion I chose not to use them...lol (another note... must try other papers..lol). Princess Tilda is holding Prince Charming in her hands just about to place a big smacker of a kiss on him. Flowers & ribbon from stash.
Oh well, better that making the tea, not one of strong points. lol.

Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Evening all, hope everyone is keep well and cozy. We had a little splattering of snow this morning which lasted a couple of hours and then disappeared. We have been really lucky where I stay, good job really as my Moon-Boots have gone missing!! I think Barry might have had something to do with it (revenge for throwing out his favourite pair of stripey underpants - which I might add were held together by the non-elastic elastic!). He has never let it lay since. I stumbled upon this lovely little site (Daring Cardmakers) & challenge when I was blog-hopping and I thought I would give it a go. I had this image in my stash and I thought it would do just the job.

The challenge is to create an Oriental card without the traditional Red & Black. Looking at the picture now I think I was on the red wine when I was doing this one 'coz the image is squint and the coin is stuck. lol. Oh well, practise makes perfect they say. lol.
