Happy New Year

Well, I failed miserably on Last Years Resolutions, so I am not making any for 2017.  I should know by now, that best made plans often go out the window and the 2016 ones certainly did.

One of the big changes I had in my life last year, was a change of Job.  Still with the same emergency service but a more challenging role, new location and hopefully the prospect of qualifications at the end.  On the down side is that I have less time to craft due to the longer travel time and my brian being pickled with all the new information it is taking on board.  When I have been making cards, that have usually been quick cards and were not good enough to blog.

Over the festive season, I have had chance to relax and play at my table which I have really enjoyed and missed.  Hopefully, going forward, I can find a balance between work, study and play.

Anyway, enough prattling on, this is a card I have made following a few challenges.  The hedgehogs are Penny Black clear stamps with I coloured and added some Stickles to their scarves.  The backing paper is scrap from an old Papermania paperback, sentiment is a Hunkydory one and snowflake is a Sizzix diecut.  Tools used was my snowflake embossing folder. The challenges covered are:-

CAS baby card

Evening peeps, sneaking in a quick post with this very clean and simple baby boy card.  I have seen quite a few beautiful cards recently with a cut out and a colour underneath so I thought I would give it a go.  I embossed the top white card with my Swiss dots embossing folder and cut out the heart using a Sizzix diecut.   The silver foil rub on sentiment has been in my craft stash for many years and embellished the card with a elephant metal charm tied with bakers twine.  The challenges covered tonight are:-

P.S.  Apologises for the poor quality of photo.

Forever Friends

Evening peeps, loving this weather at the moment and so hoping it will last into the weekend - fingers and toes crossed.  No doubt that is when the black clouds with appear .... lol...

One Idea - Two Cards

Good evening to my lovely followers.  Sorry I have not been on for a couple of days.  Full of good intentions, but never managed to get to the dining room table to play!!!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I was playing nurse maid to Barry who had "Man-Flu", and I discovered yet again, I have not got the right patience for being a nurse ....lol .... I will have to teach myself tolerance ... how do I do that??? .. lol.

So to help compensate my lack of TLC, I let Barry take me shopping (yes, he was well enough to do that!!!)......and gasp!! ...... I know, I must have been feeling really REALLY guilty for me to go to the shops ... and what did we come back back with ......... a new bed!! ......... if Baza had his way, it would have been one of those fancy electric adjustable ones with the flip-up TV screen in the footrest... lol.

My one idea over the weekend was to make to use one of my many Sizzix dies that of late have been left abandoned in a box under the stairs since I have fallen in love with rubber stamping and try and create something with them and here are the results.....

Along with the Sizzix House die, I have used 2 Cuttlebug embossing folders (Swiss Dots and another).  Design paper from scrap pile.  Ribbon, brad and charm from stash.  Circle stamped sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.  The challenges covered on this card are:-

This card has been made similar - but different (if that makes any sense!!!) I was trying to make it look more masculine by not using any DP's and using straight lines instead of any curves.  The ribbon and sentiments are from stash.  The challenges covered on this card are:-

Charisma Cardz

Evening peeps, just a little post while watching the football on the TV.  This is for Charisma Cardz Challenge - Think Male.  Made it for Barry's nephew's birthday who was 18 at the weekend, as you can guess he is a Dundee supporter.

Have used quite a few diecuts on this card,  the football strip I got off ebay, the trophy is using my sizzix diecut and the ovals are using my Nesties.

Ooh-la-la Creations Challenge - Black & Gold

Morning to everyone out there! So far I am enjoying my day off work. I am still in my PJ's and crafting away while catching up on some of my programmes on the Sky Plus (must say it it a great invention). I thought I would brake myself in gently with this one today as I knew what I would end up doing. lol
I used gold mirror card and black card with gold speckles in it (must have used two different types as one is darker in the photo - oh well. lol).
Hopefully I'll be back for some more later. xx
