Festive Wishes

A very warm festive wishes to all you fellow bloggers.  Slowly getting back to a wee bit of normality with visitors and visiting duties done (until the New Year and then same again ..lol)  Today is the first relaxing day of my holiday break and what better way to relax is to dig a couple of bits and bobs out the cupboard from under the stairs for a little play at my table.  It seems that long ago that I had to pack everything away and within about two minutes my table is covered....lol.  Never mind, that is part of the fun... lol.

Anyway, I am hoping not to see/make another Christmas Card for at least a few days so I am gonna make a selection of cards over the next coming days while I am off.  This cheery image of sunflowers (sorry do not know where it is from) helps me take my mind off the wintry weather we have been having over the past month - roll on Spring!!! ....hehehe.  The papers are from a Papermania paperpack.  Flower, Brad and sentiment from stash and string from kitchen drawer...lol..  The challenges covered today are:-

Postman's Been...

.......... and he has brought a parcel from Lili of the Valley with some goodies that I had ordered - woo hoo!!!  Nice postie, he has cheered me up away from this weather as it hasn't risen from the minus all day.  What better way to take the blues away than to play at my table.

The teddy topper is from some of my new LOTV stash, great for making some quick Christmas cards, I just added some stickles to give him a bit of sparkle.  I couldn't help treated myself to their fabby circle sentiment stamps (which fit just perfect in my circle Nesties).  Also used on this card is my old faithful embossing folders from Cuttlebug.  Ribbon, flowers and leaf punch are from stash.  The challenges covered are:-

Chilly Tuesday

Good morning to you all and I hope you are all keeping warm this chilly morning (-14 here).  Well, not at work again due to the condition of the roads.  They are shocking, my poor Barry was one of the many hundreds of travellers caught-up in the massive gridlock on the Central Scotland roads.  He was struck from 11am in the morning and never moved for over 8 hours, eventually the queue moved enough for him to take a slip road off the motorway and by luck he knew the back roads and made a very slow and slippery journey and got home the back of midnight very tired and hungry!!!.  There was alot of people, elderly and families had to spend the night in their vehicles in that cold weather - it must have been horrific!!!

So it is another day in the house with the heating on full blast to keep the chill away.  There is nothing else for it but to have a wee play at the table.  The image is Miss Anya from The Greeting Farm.  The design paper is from DCVW.  Diecut snowflakes from Sizzix and sentiment printed off computer.  The challenges I have covered are:-

Snowing again....when will it stop

Yep, its snowing hard again.  I am sitting watching it getting deeper & deeper & deeper.  Will not be going anywhere today so a day in front of the telly and a few cards will be getting made.  The snow does have it's upside afterall ....lol.

The image is Wee from Whiff of Joy decorated with some gold stickles.  The Design Papers are from Papermania.  Snowflake diecut and sentiment printed of computer.  The challenged I have covered are:-

Forever Friends

Good afternoon, back again with my second post of today.  Should really be doing some housework as the sun is showing up my streaky windows (so I have just shut the blinds...lol... is that really bad?).  Barry and I have had the "Decoration" discussion and have decided we will put them up next weekend - Bah Humbug!!!

This is a quick card using a Forever Friend 3D Dimension, Cuttlebug embossing folder, sentiment came will image as did the mistletoe's.   Also used was a MS border punch and the purple ribbon from stash.  The challenges covered are:-

Away in a Manger

Hello peeps and dare I ask how everyone is doing in this cold weather.  This is the first time that I have had to keep my heating on overnight that it has been so cold.  I just can't keep a heat in myself, tried the hot drinks and soups - might have to call on stronger measures - wine.... lol..... it always gives me rosy cheeks...lol.

The Nativity image is a gorgeous stamp from Penny Black.  Papers are from Papermania.  Flowers and card candy things are from stash.  Used leafy/twig punch and embossing folder.  Sentiment is printed off computer.  The challenged covered are:-

It's snow funny anymore.....

Off again peeps, this time the roads are apparently alright, it is the work entrance that is all blocked.  The workshop boys, bless them, have been struggling in every morning this week, trying to clear a way in.  The next day they are having to start all over again!!!  The poor souls, they deserve a medal for all their efforts.  Finger-crossed for tomorrow, believe it or not - I am wanting to get to work!!!

So while sitting this morning with my uniform on waiting on a phone call to say GO GO GO!!! I managed to make the last of the cards I had been asked to make (hopefully I can start on my own now).  The image is from Magnolia with added Stickles.  The DP are a mixture of DCVW and Papermania.  Princess brads are from stash and snowflakes are Sizzix diecuts.  The challenges covered are:-

Stuck at home ....

Yes, the weather has beaten me this morning.  I managed about 5 miles up the road but had to turn back, the roads were really, really bad, even the 4 wheel drive jeeps in front of me were slip-sliding over the place.  So I have made a hard decision to play at my table today...lol.

This fabulous Charlie image is from Whiff of Joy.  The snowflakes are a mixture of diecuts, punches and brads.  The DP is from stash, sentiment printed off computer and also used my MS edge punch and snowflake cuttlebug folder.  The challenges covered are:-

Where has this year gone....

This year has just flown past and with December just round the corner I realised I hadn't managed anything that I was planning to achieve in 2010 - hey-ho, I'll just move them on til next year... lol ....... and YES, more time to craft was one of them... lol.

The Christmas shopping has been started, record for me!!  I'm usually the mad woman on Xmas Eve rushing round the shops, five minutes before closing to the disgust of the shop assistants (who are checking their watches) grabbing anything that is left on the shelves...lol.

The Advent calendar is up on the wall (Chocy one of course!) but the Christmas Decorations tree won't go up for a wee whiley yet (Need to clean the windows first!! ...lol).

Sorry for the bad photo tonight.  The image is from LOTV (Lili of the Valley), DP are from Papermania and the rest of the embellishments are from stash.  The challenges covered are:-

Brrrrr.... its a cold one

Afternoon peeps from a very snowy and cold part of Scotland.  I was lucky in the sense that I was on holiday from work today (or unlucky as I wouldn't have managed there anyway 'coz of the weather!).  Barry tried to get to his work but got turned back just a short way from the house.  He kept himself busy by trying to clear away the snow off the path, but it covered over again so he gave up!!! ...lol.

I was planning to play all day, but it is one of those days where the mojo disappeared and I had no "oomph" so I have only managed one card! I am so disappointed, with so many fantastic creations in my head but the body not wanting to co-operate!!.. lol.  The image is from Lili of the Valley, glittered with Stickles.   DP are from Papermania.  Snowflake diecuts and brads are from stash as is the diecut silver heart.  The challenges covered are:-

Baby Girl

Evening everyone. Back on again with another card having spent most of the day playing about with Blogger (without must success - been trying to put the reactions bar on the bottom on my posts but it just won't work and I think I have mucked a few thing up in my settings as now it doesn't look right!).  Me and technology are not the best of friends today... or any day come to think of it!.

The wee bear image is a Penny Black stamp. I have had this DP in my stash for ages on the pretence that it was too good to use.  Used my MS border punch to make some faux lace.  Flowers and dummy charm are also from stash.  The challenges covered are:-

Baby Card

Afternoon peeps.  Loving my crafting weekend so far and hoping to get a few more cards done this afternoon.  I should get peace and quiet from the couch (Baza's favourite place) as there is an overdose of sport on the TV ...lol.... and as long as I feed & water him every so often I shouldn't hear a peep..hehe.

Since Kirsten, the girl from work has finished-up on her maternity on Friday there, and she goes in hospital on Monday to have the baby, I need to edge my bets to what sex the stork is gonna bring!... lol....   The stamp is from Forever Friends, the tools used are Cuttlebug Embossing Folders and Nesties (Oval & Square), ribbon and brad from stash and sentiment printed off computer.  The challenges covered are:-

Hello!!!!

I just want to stay cozy in bed and hibernate!  I finally had chance for a wee play at my table this weekend and here is a couple of my creations:-

Apologies.......

I feel really guilty that I have not been visiting Blogland of late.  I have been busy trying to do wee bits and pieces for the Christmas Fair for The Brionni Trust which we have a stall on the 20th of this month.  The feeling of not enough hours in the day is upon me and I am getting nowhere fast!!! ....... lol....  serves me right for having bright ideas and not enough pairs of hands.  To add to that, I have never had such a hectic social life for ages....lol.... so out of practice of getting the old lipstick, powder & paint on!!! ...lol.  This weekend is a quiet one (thank goodness!) so I am SOOOO looking forward to relaxing and hopefully making at least a couple of challenge cards.

One of the lovely girls I work beside is finishing up next week to start her maternity leave so I made this card for the work place to sign.  It was the first time I have made an A4 size card so it was a big challenge for me to try and scale everything up!!!.  The hardest task though was to get an A4 size envelope!  Just managed to get one last weekend at the Craft Fair, Glasgow - talk about cutting it fine!! ....lol.

The Mum-2-be body template was one a fellow crafter had emailed me but it was alot smaller so after a bit of jiggerly-pokerly I managed to enlarge it to the right size.  The poem was also one a fellow crafter had given me which I have used before.  The DP is from a DCVW paper stack and ribbon and flowers are from stash.

I couldn't resist not having a stamp somewhere on the card, so I popped this fabby stamp from High Hopes on the inside bottom corner.  I do hope she likes it.  She has also just moved into their own wee house too, so life is a bit hectic for her at the moment.  This is a card one of the other girls had asked me to make for her.

It is just quiet simple using a Sizzix die, Nestabilities and a Cuittlebug embossing folder.  I tried to used quite funky colours (Shocking Pink - Black - White) but the photo doesn't show them that well.

Baby Card

Back again, this time with a recycled image (off an old shop bought birthday card) and re-using it to make a baby girl card.  The rub-on lettering, brad buttons & ribbon are all from stash box.  I am trying like mad to use as much 'stash' as possible because the craft fair at the SECC, Glasgow is on at the end of this month and I know I will have to practice my justification of "But I need it!" ....lol.  The challenges covered with this card are:-

Get Well Soon

Good afternoon to all you lovely followers.  The weekend is here again and a chance to spend some time playing - woop woop!!!  I should really be popping to the shops to get Barry's birthday present (I'll do that tomorrow - have to get  my priorities right.  lol).  Now that the nights are getting longer I should hopefully be spending some of my evenings up at the table being creative  - never seems to work out that way though!!

I got a lovely surprise at my work yesterday, the courier delivered back the laptop all fixed - another woop woop!!! so I can blog again.  Even though we have the PC upstairs, it just didn't feel right - strange I know, but again, I am a bit weird full stop.

The image is one I have but I have no idea from it came I'm afraid.  The DP are from Papermania.  Sentiment printed off on computer.  Flowers and card candies are from stash.  The challenges covered are:-

Charity Update - We did it!!!

Just to let my lovely followers know that last night's Charity 10th Year Anniversary Band Night for the The Brionni Trust went wonderfully well.  It was a great night and a fantastic turnout.  The people where brilliant, we could not have done it without the help of so many folk.  As I said yesterday we were hoping to raise last night about £1600 to get us to our goal of £100,000 over the last ten years - well, we exceeded all expectations and the rolling total is now a staggering:-

                           over £101,000.......... Fantastic!!!

I can't believe it!!!  The generosity of everyone is truly awesome and every single penny raised is so appreciated by so many.

Laptop Crisis!!!!

Yep - I have done it again and broke the laptop.  I should know by now that electrical appliances and myself don't mix! ... lol.  Took the laptop to the repair shop on Thursday and it is "kaput" and I have lost all my photos from holidays & cards etc... Lesson to myself to start putting them on discs.  So I am using the PC upstairs.

I have not done as much crafting as I had hoped this week as been decorating and doing jobs in the garden and even they didn't go to plan...... with broken lights, freezer and ripped lino.

Anyway, I have managed to make a something.  Decided to get the heat gun out the cupboard to have a wee play and this is the result.

The embossed image is a stamp I think from a Do-crafts Goody Bag years ago.  The Snowflake embossing folder is used and I patted a cats eye chalk ink pad over it.  Ribbon and sentiment is from stash.  The challenges covered are:-
This afternoon I am busy helping making up food for a buffet for tonight.  We are holding our 10th Year Anniversary Charity Band Night on behalf of The Brionni Trust.  It will be a terrific night with a local band playing.  We are hoping to raise about £1600 tonight to get to our target of £100,000 since we started 10 years ago.

I love this gorjuss girl from Sugar Nellie but I don't really know what to use her for, so I think I shall keep this card back in my reserve pile as it might cover christening/communion/birth or something else.  My Cuttlebug folders have come in handy again and flowers, sentiment and brads are from stash.  The Challenges covered are:-
