Anya Birthday Card

Evening Folks, hope all is well.  Just a quick post before I had off to bed with a card I have just finished.  It is for my of my friend's daughter's birthday who is going to be a huge 11 years old!!!!.  I can't believe where the time goes, it doesn't seem that long ago when my friend, Wendy, had her bump. It was a really hot April/May that year and she was struggling with the heat!!!!

I used one of the Miss Anya stamps from The Greeting Farm.  Papers are from Papermania and flowers, ribbon and pearls are from stash.  Printer still broken hence the the peel-off numbers.  The challenges I have combined into this card are:-

Ruby Anniversary

Morning peeps, hope you are all having a fine weekend.  Up early this morning and already done most of my jobs about the house.  Giving the garden a miss at the moment as it is raining!!!  April is definitely living up to it's name - showery!!!.....lol.  Oh well, I might as well have a little play at my table while Barry is on the golf course.  At One Stop Craft Challenge this week the challenge is "Metallic" and Stamp Something is "Charms" so my little spacer and heart charm hopefully covers them.  Daring Cardmakers are asking for "Die cuts" so I hope by using my Oval Nestibilities and leaf punch that these count.

This is the first time I had done a "thinking" challenge for Crafty Cardmakers. Imagine if you were on a Desert Island for at least 6 months, what crafty essentials would you *need* to have with you? What would you never tire of or get bored with if these were the only things you had? You need to make your ENTIRE creation using only the items you have on your island, items you really couldn't do without.  So here is my list of my essential items
  • White Card - can be adapted so many ways
  • Embossing Folders (On the island I could just sit on them as I would not have a machine! lol)
  • Flowers - no particular kind
  • Stamps & Ink Pad - so versatile - ink pad used for distressing edges
  • Peel-offs (no computer/printer on island)
  • Ribbon - so handy
  • Charms - this could be buttons etc... off your clothes .... lol
  • Leaf Punch - one of my newest purchases and I don't know what I did before having it!!!!!
I am hoping to be back on later today depending if Barry makes me go shopping this afternoon - Boo Hiss - worst nightmare.... lol.

Quick Male Card

Back again today, this time with a quick male card.  I am being a bit cheeky entering the challenges as I don't know if I am stretching the theme boundaries a bit too far....lol..  Over at Cards for Men, their theme is "Fancy Folds", so I thought my fancy origami shirt covered that.  It's buttons are wee bits of peel off waste and matt & layered it on card cut by my Nesties.  Paperplay Challenge is "No Patterned Paper", so I am chancing my arm with this one.....lol.  and lastly, I should be safe with this one as across at Creative Card Crew it is "Happy Birthday".  I embossed the white card with one of my Cuttlebug folders and used brads, ribbon and pre-printed sentiment from stash.

Hope you are having a fabby weekend & looking forward to catching-up with you all later.

I wonna be like you.... If you can't work out from my singing which film I am on about - it's the Jungle Book!!   I had great fun stamping my own leaf background papers and the other paper is from a Forever Friends paperpack.  The Monkey and Leaf stamps are from a Hero's Clear Set and I used my leaf punch.  The challenges I have combined in this card are:-

Crafts 4 Eternity  -  Sketch & Film theme & corraguted paper

Stamptacular Sunday & Charity News

Good morning everyone, sorry I have been a bad blogger lately.  Been a bit busy with some work for the charity which I shall tell you all about.  The housework is done, the wee jobs out the way so the rest of the day is my own and I am planning to play.  You lucky lot might be experiencing the warm sunshine but I have a cloudy, but dry, sky here so it is a good enough excuse not to go anywhere.....lol.

Anyway, I thought I better post a card while I am gabbing on, It is a little quick card which suits the challenge over at Stamptacular Sunday - "A Penguin Celebration", unfortunately I didn't have a penguin so instead I used the black & white theme. The flower stamp is a Penny Black and the papers are from my never ending scrap pile.  My printer is broken again, so I am back to using peel-offs and pre-printed sentiments at the moment.

With the Brionni Trust work.  We finally managed to get the JustGiving link up and working as we have quite a few events planned for this year.  I can't believe this will be our 10th year going.  We have planned our 10th Anniversary sponsored walk on the 5th June which is what we originally started with - I can't believe though I am travelling back from holiday that day (bad planning!!!!!)  It is a such a great day and Brionni usually makes sure that the sun is shining for us.

We have another Race Night organised for a few weeks time on the 8th May so I was busy trying to make the programmes up - that's when the printer broke!!!!   The day after the walk we have a craft stall at the Scribbler's Picnic in Stirling on the 6th June - again that it such a fantastic day (It is like a mini music festival with loads of bands playing) - but the weather is a bit temperamental  there so fingers-crossed..  The girls will have sore legs from the day before but they won't mind soaking up the atmosphere in the deck chairs - as I say - it is a great day there.  We have some lovely peeps giving up their time and energy and running in the Edinburgh Half Marathon on our behalf in July - good luck to them - and finally we do have other charity stall dates still to advised and a band night again later on in the year.

Sun is shining.........

A lovely sunny morning to you all............ this is a bit more like Spring now!!!!.... Been out in the garden already today tidying it up but I need to take a trip to the garden centre for some flowers to brighten it up rather than just grass and bushes!

I was playing away last night and I came up with this little creation.  I have had these hatpins for ages but was never sure what to do with them (everyone else makes it look so easy!!...lol).  It took me the whole evening to try and get it right and 'coz I have run out of silicone a while ago I ended up just pinning it through the flower.  The umbrella I popped some Stickles on to glitz it up a bit.  Also I used one of my new MS punches for the frilly borders.  The challenges I have covered in this card are:-

Whiff of Joy  -  Sketch
Ooh La La  -  April Showers
My Time to Craft  -  "On the Spot!"
