Yep, we are having a wee cold spell here just now with snow due tomorrow (lets hope it stays on the hills) so planning not to venture far. This morning we took a trip into Stirling and finally managed to get a replacement microwave that went up in smoke a few days before Christmas - lets see how long this one lasts!

Car Trouble Tuesday

Good afternoon peeps. I am having an unexpectedly day off work today as the car is in the garage being fixed, serviced and MOT'd (sadly it has failed on first attempt). Luckily the garage is just round the corner of the house, which was really handy yesterday as I had to give a call to jump-start Wilma, the car! (That's her name ...lol) So to take my mind off what the final bill is going to be I am having a wee play at my table in between jobs about the house and so far I have done this clean & simple Christmas card.

Roll on 2012 - a full year of crafting!!Well, that is one of my resolutions, to try and do more... lol ... along with use up my old craft stash ... try new techniques...etc... you know the script...lol.

Things ... can only get better!!!

Evening folks, just checking how every one's weekend is going so far. Mine is going better as the day has gone on. Started badly as went out to the car this morning and ....... flat tyre ...... help! ... luckily Baza (aka Knight in shining armour) was on hand to change it over.

So now I was a running late to get to the Albert Halls, Stirling for our charity stall. We were that last ones to get set up, but we managed ...... even though in the haste to get the car packed up due to the above mentioned tyre we had forgot to pack the card display racks and boxes ...help!! .... but with a bit of improvisations with cardboard boxes, tupperware and balancing we did the best we could...lol.

At last, we could relax and enjoy the day, as every year, it is always a pleasure to go there and see alot of regular friendly faces from customers to fellow stall holders. Then ... crash .... one of our balancing display acts of gift tags toppled over and managed to spill coffee everywhere ... (mostly on my jacket ...lol) ... thank goodness the splashes missed our stall goodies. Then feeling left out, our jewellery display board started to get in the act by throwing itself off the table a couple of times when people went past! ...lol .... and finally when moving the selection of gift bags across to the other side of the table... another coffee goes flying .... this time my cardigan got it!! ...lol

But after all that, it was still a good fun day and I think we managed to raise over £120 - woohoo!!! So now back home I have got my feet-up and a wee glass of cheeky Red in hand getting comfy on the sofa to watch Strictly Come Dancing .... come on Russell and Favia....

Evening peeps, hope you all are well here in Blogland. Nothing exciting to report in, I have been pretty boring really. Still no further forward with the mysterious water leak into the kitchen, so the bathroom remains ripped apart in case it happens again. Finished off some wedding favours last night that we, (the charity) were asked to do and tonight I should be really making a start on some "Reindeer Poo" for the sale we are having at the Albert Halls, Stirling on Saturday.

This card is a commissioned one that I was asked to do for a female bowler who likes a few games of bingo. The bowler is a Sizzix diecut with the bowling balls made with a circle punch and the bits out of a paper punchy holey maker. The bingo balls are made from funky foam and peel-offs with the bingo card being one from an old book. The challenges covered are:-

Everything Stops for Tea

Morning peeps, did everyone enjoy their extra hour in their beds here in the UK? The cats and I had a lovely lay-in (well they had actually been out and then back in ...lol) But that's it official now, it's winter - brrrrrr!! Christmas Time ....

...... Eeek! .... can't get Sir Cliff Richard out my head now I've typed that! It's amazing what pops in and out of my wee noggin somethings .. in fact ... you are better not knowing ....lol ... alot of the time in there are just bumble bees flying about ..lol.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far. Our's didn't start off too well as last night the upstairs bathroom decided to leak into the kitchen below, and after Barry has torn most of the wood panelling out and the kitchen ceiling now looking like a pin cushion with exploratory drill holes, we are none the wiser where the mini waterfall came from - It's a mystery! (that's a bit better, out with Sir Cliff and in with Toyah....hehehe).

SECC Goodies

Well I have had a wonderful day through in Glasgow spending loads and loads of pennies (sssh! don't tell Barry ...lol) and got some smashing bargains. I went with a list written and managed to get everything bar 2 items plus a few extra treats which were my Marianne Creatables and Oval Diecutters.

As my followers know, I have a wee obsession with embossing folders and as you can see I managed to add another six to my collection. No rubber stamps though as there was too many to choose from. Bargain of the day was a Goody Bag from the Craft at Home stand for only £5 - there is loads and loads in it!!!

So I should really head off top my table now and make use of the "must have" purchases of the day.

Good evening peeps, how are we all? Well I hope. The weekend starts early for me .... as I am on holiday tomorrow and Friday from work. All excited, as tomorrow I am heading into Glasgow for the craft fair at the SECC ... my list is written with a few blank lines for some extra treats I might see!!! ...don't think I'll sleep tonight ... sad. Afternoon peeps, back again, and yes, I am still home alone - though I don't know for how much longer as Barry is making his way back after his football team got beat. .....a Mon-star....lol .........Good morning peeps, just practicing my jokes for Halloween. In Scotland our version of "Trick or Treat" is called "Guising" where we go house to house and we do a poem, joke or song for your reward. I remember my exploits of guising dressed up - usually a witch - and was very happy if I came away with a hand full of monkey nuts or a satsuma, nowadays they seem to just want money, especially the older ones - I sorted them out one year though, gave them out of date crisps that where in the cupboard - shock, horror - they have not chapped on the door since ...lol .... it that cruel???

Good morning peeps, hope you are all having a fabby weekend. We had a brilliant charity do last night with a great band, DJ, hotel venue and of course the lovely company.... it was terrific .......... thanks everyone!!!! .... and not a sore head in sight!... yeah!...lol.

With the weather being basically "pants" outside I'm planning a chillaxing day with a bit of crafting mixed in.

The rugby boy is a LOTV's pre-coloured image so handy for quick cards that are needed in a hurry. or so the weather forecasters are telling us ......... but I have my doubts. My neighbours must have thought I was nuts this morning the back of eight as I am hanging out washing in the Scottish drizzle, but I was thinking I was the smart cookie as Carol, the BBC weather girl told me it was going to bright & sunny by 10am and I smugly drove to work daydreaming that on my return I would have lovely dry clothes smelling on the sweet Autumn air! - Alas, I have returned home to a sodden line of clothes, wetter than what they went out!!!! Indian Summer, my eye! ....lol..

Anyway, how ya all doing in Blogland, hope all is well. Not had much chance to play this end, with the nights drawing in I will have to start making a real effort to go to my table in the evenings instead of sneaking off to my cozy bed. However I have managed to do this card over the weekend.

I have had peace and quiet today with Barry being at the Golf and then headed off to the football. Back again .... and as I'm typing this have noticed how the nights are starting to draw in, it is nearly pitch dark already.... gonna have to start getting ready for my hibernation... hehe.. Just had to pop the heating on as well for a wee blast of heat.

This was a cheeky quick card to make. Have used one of Lili of the Valley's diecut squares and added some Diamond & Silver Stickles to it. Good morning everyone, well trying to smuggle the sunshine back with me from Rhodes did not work as it is pouring with rain here in Scotland. Had a wonderful time on the Greek island - will post some pics on later - was such a shame it always passes so quick ..... nevermind ... I have a few days left before back to work on Monday - so craft time!!!!

The image is a Manga stamp from Funky Kits given a bit of extra sparkle with Gold & Diamond Stickles, backing papers are from DCVW (I think), big snowflake is from a Marieanne Creations diecut decorated with a pearl brad and the small snowflakes are made by using a X-cut punch. ...... Can't believe I have been missing in action from Blogland for a wee while. Have been a bit busy with charity stuff, wedding invites, commissioned cards and trying to get the card stock pile up for the next stall date in a few months. Hoping for a day of play this afternoon (fingers-crossed) as I should really be packing my case for my holidays next week - off to the sun - woohoo!!!!

This one of the commissioned cards I have been doing but managed to sneak a few challenges into it, hehe. The remit for this one is a Goth Ballet dancer, this was the closet I could find in my box of stash. It is a stamped image I have had for ages (think I received it in an image swap so I'm afraid I don't know the maker). Evening peeps, hope you are all enjoying your weekend what ever one are up to. Just a quick post tonight as I am off out in a wee while to a friend's house for cheeky drinks and a good old chin-wag. This is another Christmas card to add to the pile, it is not growing as much as I had hoped, but every little helps as they say.

Laptop all better now ....

Evening peeps, sorry not been on and visiting everyone but I had a poorly laptop, the power supply broke, but now with a new cable delivered (and much cheaper than my local PC World has wanting) I am back in business - whoop whoop!!!

Now, I got my Book-o-trix board quite a few years ago now after alot but after one very feeble attempt it kinda got placed, or may have been thrown, to the back of the craft cupboard and forgotten about until this weekend. After a lot of rummaging, box moving and a few expletives I managed to find it - on the window sill - blew the cobwebs off it and deceided to set myself my own challenge to actually use it!

The bottle and wine glass are clear stamps from Woodware coloured with some felt-tip pens (I'm afraid I don't own promakers or copics). Ribbon and peel offs are from stash. Other tools used were Oval Nesties and Swiss dots embossing folder. The challenges covered this evening are:-

Hello peeps, hope you are all well in Blogland. Well, that is us back to the same old weather, rain, rain and more rain. Shouldn't be surprised since the 'T in the Park' festival opens tomorrow and with it only being 20 minutes away we get the same rain showers. Not been to TITP for a few years, as the saying goes 'seen it, done it, worn the T shirt' and to be honest I like my home comforts now. There was nothing worst than longing for a shower and your soft bed is calling your name when you could see your own house from the top of the big wheel and you are stuck knee deep in mud with the same clothes on (nearly) for three days... phew! ... my jeans and trainers went straight in the bucket and that was that, no more camping...lol.... and don't get me started on the port-a-loo's....

Yes, you read it right, Christmas in June....Urghhhhh!!! Now its only 180 odd days to go until the big day is upon us again so I have put on my girl guide hat (and woggle) as I am going to 'be prepared' this year for a change, well that's the plan anyway....lol..

This is a very quick and simple card. The cheeky wee penguin stamp is the very first stamp I bought. Circles cut out with my Nestibilities. Mounted on some scrap black card embossed with my Snowflake folder. I put some silver border peel-offs amount the top and bottom of the black panel. Good morning from a very wet and damp Wee County. Weird thing is this climate change, as it is hard to believe that the southern parts of the country are having a heatwave and drought while us, just up the road are still living in our wellies and macs ....lol... Good afternoon peeps, hope you are all having a lovely weekend in Blogland. The middle of June and I have had to pop the heating on - where is summer!?! - it is wet and windy here in Central Scotland. Such a shame too as alot of the local towns and villages close by are having their Gala days today and tomorrow.

The Brionni Trust have a stall at the Scribbler's Picnic in Stirling tomorrow and I am seriously thinking about popping out this afternoon and getting myself a pair of wellies! - come rain of shine it is always a fun day there and local reports are that Gamu (from the X Factor) is singing on the main stage.

Good evening to all my Blogland buddies. I must apologise for not being on a while, been a wee bitty busy of late with holidays, 40th birthdays, helping fundraising for The Brionni Trust. Afternoon my good friends. Deceided to have a very lazy day today. Barry is away for the day and night, so wonderful peace and quiet - braw!!! So I can just plod about the home doing my jobs (and cards) at my own pace. And with just me and the pussycat's later on ther will be no fighting over the TV changer ....hehe.

Which Doctor?.........

Well, I rather liked George Clooney as Dr Ross, or Richard Chamberlain as Dr Kildare, but I like my favourite still has to be David Tennant as Doctor Who (although Matt Smith is doing a fabby job at the moment too!!!). I'm more a Sci-Fi geek freak than a slushy smooth talker fan and I would like a wee hurle is the T.A.R.D.I.S. anytime to face the Darleks or the Cybermen.

I have had this stamp from Whiff of Joy for ages and finally have managed to make a card with him. Quite a simple card with lots of embossing with my Cuttlebug folders using up some plain white and blue card stock. Inking round the edges with a red chalk ink. I don't have a Get Well sentiment stamp so used some peel-offs. Other tools used was a Martha Stewart border punch and Oval Nesties. The challenges covered are:-

I have been playing and managed to make this card so far. I am blogging just now before I forget and before the daylight disappears to take photo. For a change I decided to do a A5 card instead of a square card as not done one for ages - too comfy doing square me thinks, hehehe - and I must admit I was struggling with this one, alot of flower shuffling around the paper was done!.

Magnolia Baby Boy Card

Good morning peeps hope all in well out there in Blogland.. Spent a lovely afternoon yesterday with family and they were even brave enough to stay for dinner and sample some of my homemade cooking. (not checked-up on the day yet to see if they ok....hehehe). Today we were originally planning to have a wee day trip somewhere, but with a change of plan I am now hoping for a day of crafting at my table... lol ... Hello peeps. It has been glorious sunshine here the last few days. I will just start getting used to it and then it will go back to our usual weather - rain!¬ ......lol. The last few days I have been spoilt rotten as it was my birthday and my lovely work buddies had got me a new paper cutter! Woop woop - was so needing a new one, so no more raggedly edges...lol. So today I am having a holiday and a chance to play.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

The weather has been glorious here all weekend so I'm afraid I haven't done match crafting - one card in two days to be exact!!. I have been pottering about the garden and the house - it's been great!!! Had a mini spring clean upstairs and managed to gather 2 black bags full of stuff to hand in to one of the local charity shops. Did a wee bit of weeding in the back garden followed by a lot of sitting in the garden watching the world go by and admiring my handy work!! ....lol. Washing Basket completely empty - Yay!!. Whoop! Whoop! Peace & quiet on a Saturday is fantastic!!! Baz was golfing in the morning then he is away to the Dundee v Cowdenbeath game this afternoon. Good evening peeps. Managed a wee play at my table tonight. Barry is away to Glasgow to watch his nephew play in his band and won't be back until late so I am in control of the TV remote! hehehe.

Regular followers know about my electrical disasters - well, last night I came home from work to a defrosted freezer! Arrgghhhhhhh!! and Arrgggghhh again!!! Hello peeps. The weekend again and I am home alone - whoop whoop!!! All my jobs are (nearly) done around the house so I thought I deserved a wee play at the table this afternoon - hehe! Onyx, the stroppy teenager of a cat, is determined to get covered in glue and glitter today as she keeps walking all over the table trying to help - NOT!!! Tried to get her off by threatening her with a brush (which she hates) but instead she just turned round, hissed and then proceeded to lay down right in the middle of my stuff on the table - foiled by a cat!!!

Now that I am at the moment blogging, she is now wanting on my knee but because the laptop is there she has jumped up on the the back of the seat and is currently pulling my hair!!! - told you she was stroppy!

60th Birthday

Good afternoon folks!!! Just like to say first of all my deepest thoughts and wishes are going out to everyone caught up in that dreadful earthquake/tsunami across in Japan. I cannot image what they are going though when watching the horrific pictures on the telly. Puts the snow we had into perspective doesn't it!

This evening I am heading out to a 40th birthday party, this is first of many four-zero's coming up this year (mine included). I hear on the grapevine that "40" is the "30" - is this true??? If so, help!!! I am struggling to find anything to wear in my wardrobe for tonight as a few pounds have sneaked on over the months and nothing fits! Arrrrgh! Do you think I could get away with wearing my finest pj's (along with a bit of bling of course...lol).

Anyway, I had a few cards to make today and here is one of them. I used this gorgeous Elizabeth Bell image from Sugar Nellie and the green/white checked paper is from a Forever Friends paperpack. Music makes the world go round........

Hello, hello, hello, peeps and a happy weekend to you all. Should really put a health warning on this sight saying *stay away* as I am still choked with this horrid cold., now I can't hear right and my taste buds are all to pot...lol. However, to cheer myself up I have booked our summer holiday to Corfu for May - yay!! - Sunshine here I come!!!.

This is the first time I have tried making one of these fancy type of cards an it was surprising quite easy to do. The music background was done by using my PB stamp. The musical round toppers are from Kanban and I cut out black and gold mirror circles using my Nesties and matt & layered them together to look like a record and stuck the drums topper onto it. Afternoon peeps, sorry I have not been on for a while, just not had chance to be honest. Hopefully I can make it up today as I am planning a little play at my table and fingers crossed I can be more productive than I was last week.

It is male card madness in my family over the next few months so I am trying to be ahead of myself. The decoupage sheet of cars I got at the SECC Craft fair back in October but I don't know which stall. The rest of bits of card, ie, Silver Card Candy, sentiment and black peel-offs are from stash. Good afternoon to you lovely peeps. Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. So far, I am having a rather chilly and foggy one, it hasn't lifted here since Thursday, hopefully we might see some sunshine tomorrow and the temperature will rise above the -5 it has been!! brrrrrrrrrrr....

I have been looking forward to this evening for a while, I am heading out shortly to stay overnight with a girl friend of mine, there are other friends staying over too that we have not met up together for a good few years with them moving away and then back nearby again. I can sense quite alot of story telling, photo sharing, laughter, tears, singing and a few bottles of wine being disposed off .... carnage!!! I don't think there is enough beds to go round so I have packed my sleeping bag and then I have no concerns for when I am tired ( lol ...... new name to myself - "Martini" - anytime, anyplace, anywhere...lol).

Anyway, I have had a few hours this afternoon to play at my table and managed to make one card, yes, I am getting slower rather than quicker...lol. The cheek of it too is that I have used a Stickeroo from Penny Black so no colouring was needed..... Oh, I becoming so lazy these days...lol. .... put it down to the weather.. hehehe. The paper I am sure is from a DCVW paperpack. Balloons are made from funky foam cut out with Sizzix paddle punches. The challenges covered today are:-

One Idea - Two Cards

Good evening to my lovely followers. Sorry I have not been on for a couple of days. Full of good intentions, but never managed to get to the dining room table to play!!! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I was playing nurse maid to Barry who had "Man-Flu", and I discovered yet again, I have not got the right patience for being a nurse ....lol .... I will have to teach myself tolerance ... how do I do that??? .. lol.

So to help compensate my lack of TLC, I let Barry take me shopping (yes, he was well enough to do that!!!)......and gasp!! ...... I know, I must have been feeling really REALLY guilty for me to go to the shops ... and what did we come back back with ......... a new bed!! ......... if Baza had his way, it would have been one of those fancy electric adjustable ones with the flip-up TV screen in the footrest... lol.

My one idea over the weekend was to make to use one of my many Sizzix dies that of late have been left abandoned in a box under the stairs since I have fallen in love with rubber stamping and try and create something with them and here are the results.....

Along with the Sizzix House die, I have used 2 Cuttlebug embossing folders (Swiss Dots and another). Design paper from scrap pile. Ribbon, brad and charm from stash. Circle stamped sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. The challenges covered on this card are:-

This card has been made similar - but different (if that makes any sense!!!) I was trying to make it look more masculine by not using any DP's and using straight lines instead of any curves. The ribbon and sentiments are from stash. The challenges covered on this card are:-

Forever Friends Christmas

Evening peeps, I hope you are all well. Sneaking on with a wee card I made last night before I went to bed but never managed to blog until tonight. One of other New Year's Resolutions I have decided on is to try and make at least one Christmas a week (again, I shall see how long it will last .....lol).
